Team Tofu July 2014 Adventures

Hello everybody, Kiru Here! ^o^

It's been quiet on the blog front this past month as we've been so very busy here at Tofu Cute~

We've had three large consecutive events, the first being Japan Expo, held in Paris, the second being Manchester MCM Comic Con and the third being Hyper Japan in London ^^

The first was on July 2nd for a mammoth full 5 day long convention for Japan Expo's 15th Anniversary.
As Japan Expo takes place in Paris the main language is of course French, we were not very good at French but we tried our very best to be helpful(x_x;)

Behind the scenes as we set up for the week, when we first arrive, we must put up wall paper and lay carpet,  and build all of our shop fittings, its like decorating a room each time~ (•̀ᴗ•́)و

We bought along a variety of Japanese snacks and plenty of kawaii goodies, including lots of flavours of Pocky, delicious Kit Kats and of course Alpacas! Our sister company Dreamy Bows also shared the booth with us, selling gorgeous Japanese fashion such as Angelic Pretty and KOKOkim! *_*

The team are ready to serve our lovely customers!

Panda Chan also came along to meet some of our younger fans, they did a colouring event with him, he was very tired afterwards! (He probably needed a stick of Pocky or two and a well deserved nap!) But he wasn't too tired to give a few hugs out before going for a lay down!

After his nap Panda Chan and Miss Tofu hopped up on the stage with Rob to give 2 snack panels through out the week with lots of fun games, including the infamous pocky game (>-^) and of course plenty of snack tasting!

We do snack panels at lots of different events, big and small, Japan Expo is by far the biggest audience yet and one of the biggest challenges as we have to have a translator to help us, unfortunately English humour does not translate well. ~(>_<~) Thankfully the delicious flavour of our snacks knows no boundaries and so everyone had a lovely time!

Japan Expo was an exhilarating challenge for all of us~
We had a great time and met so many wonderful people, a big 'merci beaucoup' to all our fantastic customers for visiting our booth!

Our next event was a smaller more homely event, up in the north of the UK in the glorious city of Manchester for Manchester MCM Comic Con, where we saw lots of familiar faces and some brand new ones too despite the terrible weather. ^^

Even though we only had our modest table displays we tried to cram as much kawaii goodness as possible (>.<)
We bought along a large range of super fun DIY Candy kits, Popin' Cookin', as well as scrumptious luxury Japanese chocolates and candy and plenty of cute purses and pencil cases.

It was lovely for us to do a more intimate convention, where we can spend some time getting to know our customers and being able to give lots of helpful information on each of our products as we know sometimes it's hard to know what they are! ヾ(×× ) ツ

Our last convention of the month was Hyper Japan in London, there hasn't been a Hyper Japan event for a year and so we were really excited to take part once again. We had two large stalls, one selling snacks and drinks and one selling all of our charming kawaii gifts from stationery, bento making kits, stickers, cases and of course keychains and alpacas  ♡(.◜ω◝.)♡

It was a lovely busy event with so much wonderful Japanese culture, traditional and pop; full of tasty Japanese food and of course plenty of kawaii fashion and Japanese games.

Our team worked really hard to bring kawaii energy and fun to each booth, and to serve each customer as quickly as possible as we knew there was so much to see and do! We were overwhelmed with how passionate everybody was and by the end of the weekend we were sad to see it end. We are all fully looking forward to the Hyper Japan Christmas Market in November. ^^

Thank you for taking the time to read this post and for supporting us each and every day!
And a big thank you to everyone who came along to any of our events over the past month and we can't wait to see you again at another event some time soon! (ᗒᗜᗕ)՛̵̖

Until next time,

Your social media event team member, Kiru! ^o^
